The Eastern Cape education department has deregistered an independent school in the Alfred Nzo West education district due to its handling of a rape case involving a 7-year-old pupil.
Education MEC Fundile Gade announced the decision after the school’s principal failed to cooperate with the police investigation, raising concerns about pupil safety.
