Education Minister Proposes NYSC Reform to Equip Youth with Market-Relevant Skills

The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, has called for a comprehensive reform of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, urging a shift towards skill acquisition to enhance the employability of Nigerian youth and drive national development.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by the Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Akinyemi Nafiu, and his delegation to the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja, Dr. Alausa described Nigerian youth as the nation’s most valuable resource. He emphasized their potential to contribute significantly to education, healthcare, and economic growth.
